Bags for men!!

Is not a secret that men start wearing bigger bags everyday, and is well known that this is one of the trendiest accessories for men. Lot of people will think that this kind of bags are only for women...but trust me.....a big bag can make the difference in you and will make you look more elegant, fashionable and cool....and also you will have a place to put all your stuff without the necessity of tell a girl friend of you to keep all your stuff in her bag....

David Delfin

As some of you know, I was in Madrid the last weekend, and I'm obliged by myself to do a post and talk about a great Spanish designer named David Delfin!

If you go to Madrid you MUST go to take a look at his shop....I have to admit that is not the cheapest shop in Madrid, but also is not the most expensive one, and trust me, it worth it!! Great designs, great textures and great ideas.

Also you can shop online... http://www.davidelfin.com/ if you have time take a look at his webpage! I really love the t-shirts but the thing I love the most is the " Je t'aime....moi non plus" pullover!! Just a "I have to have it"pullover!!!!!

Alternative shopping....

I didn't write during this weekend because I went to Madrid ( Spain ) for work...and I decided to stay there all the weekend....and obviously I went to some of my favourite places there....

As you can imagine, Madrid is full of surprising and different environments, but there's a very special place....the Fuencarral Street......

In full center of the capital, replete with showy, original trades, acquaintances and strangers, shoe stores, shops of Chinese, bars … this street has turned into a place of reference to the lovers of the different thing, beginning for Fuencarral's out-standing Market. In a word, this place proves … incredibly. Authentic " box of surprises " that wastes imagination, creativity and design, with a very alternative and free atmosphere.

An authentic ultramodern choice that defies to the boring and typical malls, breaking the sober aesthetics of these. The market - that shelters approximately 60 shops - is an explosion of color, lights, new trends, complements and clothes, specializing centers of piercing and tattooes …

… Designers, craftsmen, small merchants, a modern hairdresser's shop, gifts, cosmetics, shoe stores, discs, jewels, a Sofa - club, a small gallery of art and up to live music. In addition, the Market also organizes playful events: cycles of cinema, theatre, concerts … A place of meeting and of new trends that is worth knowing if you are a lover of the new experiences.

As I told you I was in hospital for three days in my trip to Galicia ( north Spain...really nice region that I recommend to the Nature lovers! ) and in the hospital I saw that everybody ( as it's supposed to be ) was wearing white clothes...but...with a bit of color.....where?? In the shoes! All the doctors and nurses were wearing crocs! I don't like those shoes too much, but the colors are great! and also the stickers you can put on them....a bunch of color and fun!!!

I'm sure you have seen lot of people wearing those shoes....from your neighbor to George Bush, Jennifer Aniston, Jack Nicholson, and other celebs....also you have seen those shoes in some catwalks....but....do you really like it? About me I love kids wearing crocs, they look lovely...but not in adults...but everybody is free to wear what they want...and to be sincere with you...those shoes seems to be very comfy....so sometimes is better to be comfortable than trendy...but as I told you...is a personal election... but please, please, please.... don't do as George Bush....DON'T WEAR CROCS OR SANDALS WITH SOCKS!!!

The commitment of a single person can put the wheels in motion to generate change in society as a whole...

Ok! All of us agree that those are not the most fashionable t-shirts all over the world...but there's not only a piece of cloth....behind this campaign there's also a bit of hope and help for the Senegalese community in Africa, so I think it worths a post in a fashion blog, like this one... also I have to tell that I have seen those t-shirts in person and are quite cool, specially the yellow one, I really like it.

About this campaign, Benetton puts the spotlight on entrepreneurial Africa. Its global communication campaign for 2008 promotes the Birima micro-credit programme in Senegal, a co-operative credit society founded by the Senegalese singer Youssou N'Dour. The programme will also receive financial support from Benetton Group.

Africa Works - the slogan of the campaign developed by Fabrica - will appear on billboards and in the press throughout the world. It features Senegalese workers who have used micro loans to start small, productive businesses. Photographer James Mollison portrays them with the tools of their trade against a neutral background. They include, amongst others, a fisherman, a decorator, a musician, a jewellery-maker, a farmer, a tailor, two textile sellers and a boxer. These everyday people become tangible symbols of an Africa that uses the dignity of work to fight poverty, promote equitable development, maximise its resources and take back responsibility for creating its future.

Alessandro Benetton, Executive Deputy Chairman of Benetton Group explains the conviction with which Benetton has backed the project: "We chose to support and promote this important project because, unlike traditional acts of solidarity, it offers tangible support to small local entrepreneurs through the efficient use of micro-credit. Precisely because it is based on entrepreneurial talent, hard work, optimism and interest for the future, this project effectively promotes the new face of Africa."

Youssou N'Dour, one of Africa's best-known singers and a man committed to humanitarian projects, comments: "my personal experience led me to realise that when a loan, however small, is used to develop an idea or realise a project, it is an effective way of fighting poverty. This is why everybody must understand the value of micro-credit. Africa doesn't want charity, it wants repayable subsidised loans."

Birima, N'Dour's co-operative credit society, offers financial services for SMEs, craftspeople, professionals and artists to help them start and independently develop their business. Apart from being the title of one of the singer's international successes, Birima is the name of a legendary king of Senegal who, speaking to his people only once a year, became a symbol of the value of keeping one's word, of a moral code reflected in the credit society's key tenet: those who ask for a loan need offer no other security than their word and the good name of their family.

Confidently based on Africa's traditional, deep-rooted principles of honour and dignity, Birima looks to the future of the continent and responds to its increasing need for funding. Compared to normal micro-crediting, Birima grants higher loans for a longer period of time provided the submitted project has a positive effect on the community and can guarantee profits and development. Senegal was chosen for the pilot project because it is one of the most stable African countries, albeit with significant differences in income among the population. From Senegal, Birima's style of advanced credit will be gradually exported to other African nations.

Core concepts of Benetton's advertising are reiterated in this new campaign. By supporting and promoting a fund to finance work in Senegal, Benetton underlines the importance of co-operating with organisations dedicated to solidarity. At the same time, the campaign emphasises how the commitment of a single person can put the wheels in motion to generate change in society as a whole.

Surprised with the sunglasses you have just seen? I'm sure the most fashionable readers have seen one of those sunglasses in some parties, catwalks, etc.....

The teen look....

Today I wake up and I remind that yesterday I posted something very personal on the blog...I read it and I was feeling as a teenager.....there's nothing wrong about that, sometimes we feel and act like grannies, teenagers, kids, babies, doctors, babysitters, dads, lovers........ And a wide range of different personalities...maybe is this "transformation effect" what makes people special.....obviously if these transformations have sense....

Because the way we feel makes up dress in a specific way, I was searching a picture that were able to show today's feeling while reading my post..... I found two pictures that show what I want to say (also shows things that I explained in other posts such as the vintage look t-shirts)

The teenager look...... innocent, dramatic, passionate, nonconformist, and full of new ideas, feelings, energy and dreams....

Me, myself and I ....

We can describe our times as the "time of emotions"....marketing gurus are selling us everything, just making us feel what we want to feel..... I know this is a fashion blog, and that all of you love me writing about fashion, street hunting, and others....but I bet all of you also love to know a bit about what I think, what I feel, what I want and what I dream....

I don't know exactly why I posted this picture.... maybe I'm a bit melancholic today... maybe is the wine.... maybe because I think the picture I posted fits in a Massimo Dutti catalogue and there's a connection with a fashion blog like mine.... maybe because is an universal feeling everybody searches..... or maybe because I'm listening "chasing cars" by snowpatrol from the Grey's anatomy OST in the radio.... who knows...... I don't know why, but here it is...the kiss by Robert Doisneau.....a picture that came to my mind meanwhile I am hearing this song.....

I always say to my friends that "Love Stinks"..... I never take the word "love" seriously and I always joke about that...... but sometimes I think I act in that way because I had very bad luck and I'm afraid of being injured again.......I'm still waiting for somebody that will whisper me...will wake up besides me...also, will make me laugh, cry, emotionate, anger, smile, dream, hate, love, feel, calm, worry, shock, delight, proud, excite, care, confuse, fear, relax, discover......

There are people that says that we have to search love, other people say that love will find us, more rational people say that love is a chemical reaction that disappears in 5 years....who knows...maybe I have to find a searcher that will mix the correct chemical products ... or maybe I have to find the correct kiss that will reactivate everything inside me....... who knows..... As I was telling a friend yesterday..... "When you wish something with all your heart the whole universe conspires to make you get what you want" (Is a Paulo Coelho quote).....maybe the problem is that I don't know what I want, or that I'm afraid of getting what I want or getting injured again.... who knows?

Time will tell....meanwhile, I let you emotionate with this great picture....and think..... and feel….

Video Games & Films!!!

Sometimes we need to think in nothing, and that's what I decided to do when I finished working today.

I went to Barcelona and let my legs walk without a fixed destination, just walking...... after going around the Gothic Street ( is not a street plenty of gothic people, is the street just behind the Cathedral, where you can see very interesting pieces of gothic architecture )....well, what I was saying...I was walking there and I saw a guy with a Mario Bros t-shirt....to be sincere with all of you I thought that he bought this on Camden Market in London, or a second hand shop, but my surprise was walking near Pull and Bear when I saw this t's...again we can say that Amancio Ortega is a genius!

Pull and Bear created this “vintage look” t-shirts in a limited edition.... Super Mario Bros, E.T., Star Wars, the Godfather, Jaws, Mighty Mouse… escaped for a while from our cinemas screens and our videogames, and they go into a t-shirt collection!!!

Old fashioned t's with a "London market" and a "second hand" look...just perfect to wear with jeans with or without a blazer!

80's are back!!

If we take a look at people in the street and take care about what they are wearing, we will notice that people is wearing things from the 80's...obviously adapted to our times....

Something that I've seen many times on the last days are the 80's sneakers....and today walking trough an exposition I saw something that caught my attention...... and that explains in images what I want to say about this kind of sneakers....... old fashioned but fabulous!

Great, isn’t it? Is not my style, but when something is great we have to recognize it...and this is! I love the transparent ones....you can have a different sneaker everyday just wearing different socks...simply fantastic!

Finally I want to write down something I read today....it's a quote from Woody Allen and I saw it on the Coolobservatory Exposition in IDEP, Barcelona ( If you have the chance take a look...is a really interesting view of a coolhunter! ).... well, what I was saying...the quote that I saw was.....
"I'm interested in future because is where I will be" - W.Allen
.... Woody...you are a genius!!!....
