Paul Smith + David Hockney = Hockney Smith

On the last post I did I talked about David Hockney and his colours and look...well, I recived some emails asking about the look because the last post was only based on the colours....

Because a picture is worth ten thoussand words, here you can see a picture of David Hockney and you will understand what I mean with the Hockney look.

Don't he look great? Trendy? Stylish? Fashionable? It seems that this man is wearing what designers created for the Spring and Summer 2008.....Nice colors, nices shapes and....nice vintage glasses!

If I want to talk about the Hockney look I have to talk about Paul Smith ( I love his designs, so... I'm sorry but I can't be 100% objective...but who can't say NO to Paul Smith stripes and colours? Not me! )

As you can see, this season Paul Smith Menswear and Womenswear makes the Bloomsbury sets (an English collective of loving friends and relatives who lived in or near London during the first half of the twentieth century. Their work deeply influenced literature, aesthetics, criticism, and economics as well as modern attitudes towards feminism, pacifism, and sexuality) meets David Hockney in a collection that encapsules the creative individualism of London bohemia. By uniting their shared channels of inspiration passion and bourgeois eccentricity, formal and casual elements are combined throughout, embodying the unique personal style and free-striped unruliness of these inspiring icons.......Just great!
Finally you have to take a look at Oliver Peoples webpage, where you can see one of the season's accessories...the Round Shaped Vinatge Glasses.....as you can see...totally inspired in the Artist
Oliver Peoples optical collection ( Sir Smith collaborated in some designs ) returns to its roots with old school panto lens shapes like round, oval.
So as I said.... who can't say NO to Paul Smith stripes, colours , shapes and the Hockney look? Not me!
